I discovered Earth Cafe Living Foods, Inc. on Twitter and every time their avatar passed my stream, my curiousity grew as to what gluten free/raw/vegan cheesecake tastes like (all new to me, honestly). The nice folks behind the business sent over complimentary samples of a variety of their cakes for the SDBM :) family and we had a taste-testing party, passing around the dinner table a variety of flavors. Being a lover of all things sugary and one who appreciates traditional desserts, I braced myself (in uncertainty), but was pleased with what we found: a very tasty, healthful dessert alternative (see giveaway below)!

Earth Cafe makes 11 flavors of cakes. Their desserts contain no refined sugars (they use agave nectar), no harmful oils or fats, wheat-free, gluten-free, and dairy-free. They are handmade with organic ingredients, and have no cholesterol.

The Earth Cafe has their cheesecakes available in 15 states that range as far west as Hawaii and as far east as the East Coast. While their cakes are sold mainly in Natural Food Markets and Co-ops, they also work closely with Whole Foods Market.

BTW: My fave is their Cali Style Lemon Cheesecake! Oh, and to address why they call it "cheesecake" when it is dairy-free...because it is as close as you will get, is my thought!.
