Christina Fleming, the founder of Murasaki Media, is pioneering a new trend for family memory preservation – Baby Wish Maternity, Baby and Family Legacy Videos.  Christina has dedicated her business to preserving precious moments in a beautiful, lasting keepsake. With two children of her own, she understands the importance of documenting life events and has found a creative way to help  other parents do the same.

SDBM had the priviledge of working with Christina to help connect her with other amazing San Diego women in business. This beautiful video she recently created is a reflection of that collaboration and just one sample of the assortment of videos she can create for you.  I also had the chance to talk with and meet up with Christina and am so very pleased to share my interview with her below.

christina flemming creates great video and photographsWhat is a Baby Wish Maternity, Baby and Family Legacy Video?

Baby Wish videos are similar to a video diary. It is a 3 to 4 minute interview with mom and/or dad discussing their thoughts, feelings and wishes for their children. Baby Wish videos can be given to the child when they turn 16, at their wedding, or when they have children. The main purpose is to remember pregnancy or childhood thoughts that are long forgotten after many years. The result is an amazing video memory that has been professionally edited to tell your family story.

What inspired you to create this service for families?

I have found that as the years go by, my memories of my oldest child are not as vivid as they once were years ago. I wanted to create something to preserve those memories in an artistic way that captures both sound and pictures. Home videos are great, but they can be long and boring. Baby Wishes are videos that you will want to watch and show off to everyone.

What happens during a typical filming session?

Depending on the package, a typical shoot will consist of a one hour interview with mom and/or dad. The interview questions are emailed to mom and dad beforehand so they can think about their answers before the shoot. Some moms choose to be pampered and have their hair professionally styled and makeup applied. Next, we film up to an hour of footage of mom and dad. Sometimes, if there are other children, we will film them doing a fun activity. The shoot is easy and relaxed. The best part is that they are never the same and there are no wrong interview answers.

I am already having maternity and newborn photos taken, do I need video too?

YES. Photos are important, but video explains the story. Your voice, mannerisms, and interview will show your children what you were like before they were born. They will know your emotions and hopes. They will see your connection with your spouse or your pregnant belly. Nothing can compare.

Do you provide any other services for maternity?

Yes, we just added Video Birth Announcements to our menu of services. It is a budget friendly option that is often less expensive than newborn photography. This option includes filming of the newborn, editing set to music, and 2 DVD copies.

How can I book my own session?

You can book a Baby Wish session by visiting the Murasaki Media website or by email and info@murasakimedia.com. Baby Wish Video packages begin as low as $500 and include your filming session, a 3 to 4 minute edited video and two DVD copies.
