Our Stay at The Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa & Marina
My family and I got away from it all, courtesy of the nice folks at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa & Marina. Our complimentary staycation getaway included a room with a beautiful panoramic view of Mission Bay and the Pacific Ocean and the gorgeous pool area (photo).
We strolled around scoping the place out and felt like we were in a tropical island: full-service luxury spa, signature restaurant, three tropical heated pools with water slides, beautiful landscaping and enough outdoor space for the kids to run around and toss the Frisbee. The location is tip-top, as it is very close to beaches and local attractions such as SeaWorld, Belmont Park and the San Diego Zoo.
The hotel offers their full-service Blue Marble Spa that uses organic and natural products in all of its treatments, and I found out they even offer yoga classes! The Hyatt’s docks offer a variety of fun water sport activities like sport fishing excursions, jet skis, powerboats, sailboats and kayaks. It all looked tempting, but guess what we did? Well, precisely what other parents with 6 & 8yo kids would do, and we headed to the three heated pools, where the lucky ducks spent some time taking advantage of the water slides. This mama enjoyed the jacuzzi greatly, I must add.
The night prior the fam enjoyed roasting marshmallow around the fire pit, OK…I am not a good liar: I stayed in the room, eating fresh fruit (compliments of the the Hyatt) and fell asleep with a nice book while my husband had the honor of playing campfire counselor and roasting with the tourists. In re-reading this post I am seeing that I was the parent that had the down time! Guess I can call it a pre-Mother’s Day treat. I also enjoyed the coffee maker and refrigerator, which came in very handy. A blogger’s gotta do what a blogger’s gotta do.
