The Reuben H. Fleet Science Center Gross Olympics Offers Family Fun
How about a day to praise your kids for their disgusting habits? Huh? Grab your long-distance spitters, your kids with the smelliest sneakers, your loudly belching babes and head to The Fleet! It’s time to reward the kiddos with fabulous fun and prizes at the Gross Olympics. The Reuben H. Fleet Science Center and the Global Association of Gross and Messy Education (GAG-ME) invites children 6-14 to participate in the GrossOlympics, to be held on July 7, 2012 in celebration of the newest hands-on science exhibition, Grossology! To be specific , it is called “Grossology: The (Impolite) Science of the Human Body.” SDBM is very pleased to be on board with their campaign to spray… I mean spread the word! Buuurp.
The Gross Olympics will be held at the Fleet Science Center in Balboa Park on Saturday, July 7th.
10 AM: Contest Registration Opens
11 AM: Loudest Burp Contest 12 PM: Pit Spitting Contest
1 PM: Smelly Sneaker Contest
2 PM: Peristaltic Push Relay
While you’re there, be sure to check out the Fleet’s Family Science Saturday event in the tinkering studio. I can’t wait for the kids to ”spark” their imagination! Kids have the awesome opportunity to try ”origami and Spirograph artwork, design and construct simple mechanical toys like tops, catapults and musical instruments; build marble ‘roller coasters’ using tubes and ramps, or create ‘digital bling’ using colorful LED lights, batteries and accessories.”
