Grab Great Theatre Tickets Before They Sell Out

Theatre on a Dime

This month I would like to profile the San Diego Civic Theater and the Balboa Theater and give some tips on getting tickets to the kinds of events that sell out!

First let me tell you about an upcoming FREE theatrical event. If you celebrate Easter and want your family to experience a live re-creation of the resurrection of Christ then this is the event for you. “The Passion Play” will be performed on Friday, April 2 at 5:00pm and 8:00pm at the Balboa Theater located downtown San Diego near Horton Plaza. For details visit: www.sandiegotheatres.org.

Another spectacular event happening at the Balboa Theater is “Cirque Dreams Illumination” April 13-18. Tickets range from $72-$15. If you have not experienced this wild unimaginable art form, then I encourage you to go. The $15 seats a good set of binoculars will still make this an incredible event. Because of its fantastical nature, this event really can be enjoyed from a distance. For details visit: www.sandiegotheatres.org.

Lastly, I would like to introduce you to the “My Ticketmaster” option offered through ticketmaster.com. All you have to do is register your email, name and address and you are able to create a specific profile of the kinds of venues, theater, lecture/seminars, sports, or music that you like and it will organize a “favorites” tab including any upcoming events. Not only will you have it do that, but you can also select to be emailed before tickets go on sale for your “favorite” events. This allows you to organize yourself in a much more efficient way and provide you the opportunity to actually purchase tickets to events that typically sell out. That should help us enjoy some really cool events without busting a mama’s budget!!!
