I am far from extreme when it comes to saving money, but I am extremely happy when I see the savings add up! I am always beside myself when I hear how friends are saving big bucks at the grocery store, but then I take a step back and realize that, hey, I don’t do too bad, myself! I could use a little help in the coupon department, but I always seem to have some on me (I just do not let them dictate what I am going to buy)!
Spending twenty to thirty minutes before shopping, I have found, is so important if I want to see noteworthy savings! While I certainly like to shop warehouse stores, I also regularly frequent Grocery Outlet (have been a fan since I can remember) and then move on two one or two grocery other stores (deal hopper!). Everything I displayed in this Wake Up San Diego segment (besides the prepackaged carrots) I found at a discount! I combined sales with manufacturer and store coupons to ultimately only pay 50% of the regular store prices. The most crucial strategy is to buy what is on sale and either use it right away, or be sure that it has a good shelf life and store it for when you need it – because you will!
I hope that these tips serve as reminders that money saved is money in the bank! Do you have any savvy grocery shopping tips?
Do share! I am open to taking this to the next level!!
I look forward to returning next month for another savings segment! See you then!
