It’s not too late to take advantage of this fabulous summer camp feature for preschool and kindergarten graduates (ages 4-6) at the Living Coast Discovery Center! This is one of my favorite places I have taken the kids!
Fun, safe and educational, these camps explore the best nature has to offer, creating memories that will last a lifetime. Make plans for the upcoming 2 or 3-day camps, with choices like Move It!, Fish School and Squiggly Snakes & Leapin’ Lizards. Your kids will have a blast with this age-appropriate program including hands-on nature activities, crafts, exploration, games, and outdoor fun on San Diego Bay.
It’s your choice of 3 session dates for ages 4 to 6: *Move It! – July 23-25, 1:30-4:30pm (3 day session) Animals have all the right moves! Can you walk like a crab, soar like an eagle or glide like a shark? Campers will jump, crawl, slither and run like animals during this active camp!
*Fish School – July 23-25, 9:00am-12:00pm (3 day session) Clownfish and lionfish! Flatfish and eels! Fish come in every color, shape and size you can imagine. Your kids will dive into the colorful and scaly world of fish through games, crafts and up-close looks at some finny friends
*Squiggly Snakes & Leapin’ Lizards – July 26-27, 1:30-4:30pm (2 day session) This camp is all about those radical reptiles! Campers will slither with snakes and lounge with lizards as they discover the scaly world of our local reptiles through games, crafts and up-close (and safe!) animal encounters!

The Living Coast Discovery Center (formerly Chula Vista Nature Center) is a natural treasure on San Diego Bay. The nonprofit zoo and aquarium is located just minutes from Downtown San Diego and is uniquely situated on the Sweetwater Marsh National Wildlife Refuge. Kids and adults of all ages enjoy exploring the amazing animals and plants that call our coastal region home. Visitors to the Living Coast Discovery Center have an opportunity to view and interact with these creatures up-close – including green sea turtles (babies too!), sharks, rays, hawks, eagles and many more (including some endangered species).
