This year marks the 33rd year that the OB Street Fair has filled Newport Avenue with an eclectic mix of family fun. The iconic community event offers attendees a vast array of activities and attractions from unique handcrafted merchandise, local food vendors, beachfront entertainment to art demonstrations and children’s activities. One distinct festival tradition for the past 14 years has been the community mural project, in which visitors can purchase one of 216 squares to help create a mural that will be displayed permanently on a building around town. Other attractions include a skateboard exhibition from Ocean Beach Surf and Skate Shop, as well as a Wonderland Children’s Area with pony rides, bounce house and a 150 foot inflatable water slide. New to the Street Fair is a laser tag arena at Saratoga Park. The festival will take place on Saturday, June 23 from 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. in the 4800-5000 blocks of Newport Avenue, along the waterfront and in the pier parking lot. Admission is free.
