Every day in America, on average 27 people die as a result of drunken driving crashes, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the stats for New Year does not look pretty, as well. The following are services that might help save lives in San Diego on New Year:
Tipsy Tow service will provide a complimentary ride and vehicle tow up to seven miles from the point of pickup to drivers who have consumed alcohol on New Year’s Eve. Tipsy Tow service is available to members and non-members. Ask for a Tipsy Tow by calling 1-800-400-4222.
The North County Transit District (NCTD) will offer free and extended New Year’s Eve service to promote safe and responsible celebrations throughout San Diego County. NCTD wants to discourage drinking and driving and encourage party-goers to take the responsible route to New Year’s Eve festivities by riding free late-night trains and buses provided by North County Transit District. Tickets will not be necessary after 6 p.m., Dec. 31 on COASTER and SPRINTER trains and BREEZE buses.
