The holiday season is finally upon us. In between shopping trips, turkey dinners and trimming the tree, make sure to set some time aside for the kids to see Santa! Santa’s a busy man, but here are a few places where you’ll be able to catch him in San Diego:
Santa will sport his board shorts and sail into Seaport Village on November 26th. He’ll arrive via pirate ship, then head to shore for myriad holiday festivities throughout the afternoon. Santa will also be available for surfing photos. New this year will be a free LED holiday light exchange. The fun starts at 1pm.
This parade kicks off with a 60-foot tree lighting ceremony hosted by Santa Claus. You’ll also see marching bands, floats, antique cars and surfers. Following the parade will be a small festival featuring a craft fair and festive entertainment. The parade begins at 5:05 pm. at Newport Ave in Ocean Beach.
Santa’s Magical Village: 12/3-12/4
Head to the San Marcos Community Center for some holiday fun! You can meet Rudolph the red nosed reindeer, catch the holiday tree lighting on December 3rd and enjoy free entertainment and kids crafts. Have breakfast with Santa for a small fee! Enjoy a continental breakfast with holiday crafts and entertainment included. Call 760-942-3743 for more info. For general info, call 760-744-9000.
Christmas in the Park – Old Poway Park: 12/10
This is an event that brings Christmas traditions to life! View the community Christmas tree lighting at 5:20 p.m and watch Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive by train at 5:30 p.m! Kids will love riding the steam locomotive train (nominal fee) and having their faces painted. Listen to live musical holiday entertainment and caroling and take your picture with Santa in Santa’s Village. The event starts at 3:30p.m and goes until 8:30 p.m. Call (858) 668-4576 for more information.
A Christmas Tabernacle will feature over 100 specialty-goods vendors, a food court, Christmas concerts and performances, a living nativity scene and a real snow play area! Santa will also be present at his village. This one requires tickets but it looks to be an event worth experiencing.
