If you are a fan of San Diego Bargain Mama, then you are no stranger to the land of resale. Resale lost all its stigma for me when I first experienced the rush from scoring great finds at some fabulous consignment stores, then as a new mom I learned that I could find children’s merchandise, either gently-used or brand new at up to 70% off or more! Your kids will be stylin’ if you stock up on items like dress shirts, jeans, dresses, even onsies for babies! Remember to buy sizes at least a few months bigger than your kiddo is now, or you will be reselling, yourself – and soon!
One of San Diego Bargain Mama’s favorite clients Trunk Treasures (shared in an old, yet informative post) throws great family consignment sales two to three times annually! Run by Stacey, a stay-at-home mom/entrepreneur it is a favorite in San Diego. Just Between Friends, another SDBM client, has it’s upcoming event coming this weekend to Carlsbad and is pulling together clothing, kids’ gear, maternity clothes, and more, promising to provide some hot deals! Vendors pay a small fee to participate in the sales and give a percentage over to the sale, itself, but everyone comes out a winner!
This weekend you might also wish to check out the Parent Connection Family Swap Meet. Vendors pay a fee and sell their items for 100% of the profit. Admission is $2 per person (under 12 years old free). No pre-registration is required for attendees. You will find baby gear, toys, books, furniture, crafts, clothing and much more… For info, call 858-626-6944.
My top tips when shopping these sales are to remember to hydrate, wear comfortable shoes, stick to a budget and keep in mind that the prices drop closer to the end of the sale! Hope you find some treasures! Any favorite consignment events or shops you recommend? Do share!
