Living History Demonstrations: See history come alive and see demonstrations of primitive skills, tipis, and period tents, archery, target shooting, trade goods, clothing and more. Lake Morena County Park. 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. Price: $4, free for ages 10 and under, military with ID and Scouts in uniform.

Just Between Friends Consignment Sale: Buy gently-used children’s clothes, toys, baby equipment, books, shoes, and more during this consignment sale. Faith Chapel. 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. Price: $3 (free admission pass online).

Friday Night Liberty: Featuring open artist studios, galleries, shopping and entertainment throughout NTC. Liberty Station. 5-8 p.m. Free.

Concerts on the Promenade: Formerly Concerts on the Green, this concert series features weekly performances by local artists. Today is classic rock group Pelican. Prescott Promenade. 6-8 p.m. Free.

Moonlight Beach Surf Faire: Surfing and ocean-related festival featuring over 130 surf related booths, music, demos, and more. Moonlight Beach. 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. Free admission.

Home Depot’s Kids Workshops: Offers useful and fun projects for kids while teaching children do-it-yourself skills and tool safety. At your local Home Depot. 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. Free.

Cardiff’s Spring Fling:  Learn about sustainable gardening practices, enjoy live music, food, and a Kid’s Zone. Carpentier Parkway. 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Free admission. Article.

San Diego Dragon Boat Festival:  Celebrate pan-Asian cultures and cuisines. Featuring a boat race with the dragons, food, and performances. Mission Bay Park. 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Price: Fee for boat race; Free admission to festival.

The Salvation Army Spring Fling:  Featuring a variety of vendors, food, carnival games and bounce houses, and live music. The Salvation Army. 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Free admission.

Sage & Songbirds Festival:  Featuring entertainment, art and craft vendors, educational seminars, live butterfly release, and more. Viejas Outlet Center. 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Free admission.

Encinitas Arts Festival:  Enjoy music, dance, and theatre on two stages, and outdoor drum circle, performance art, hands-on art workshops, dance workshops, and more. Encinitas Community Center. 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Free admission.

Art in the Pines: Festivities include music, refreshments, guided nature walks, children’s art and activities, and more. Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve. 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Free admission.

Carlsbad Village Street Faire: Take advantage of over 900 vendors, an international food court, and a children’s area with face painting, bounce house, super slide, rock climbing, arts and crafts, and more. Carlsbad Village. 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Free admission.

Kidical Mass Family Friendly Bike Ride: Promotes family friendly riding, bicycle safety skills, raises community awareness about kids on bikes and is great way to have fun! Liberty Station. 9 a.m. Free.

Hullabaloo Family Music Festival: A celebration of all things music! A family festival packed with performances, classes, and hands-on musical experiences! Bernardo Winery. 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Price: $7/person or $25/family (2 adults and up to 3 children). Article.

California Ballet’s Cinderella: When it comes down to it, it’s all about the shoes! San Diego Civic Theatre. 1-3:30 p.m. Price: $25-$80.

Xanadu – The Musical: Xanadu follows the journey of Kira, who descends from Mt. Olympus to Venice Beach, California in 1980. David & Dorothea Garfield Theatre. 1 p.m. Price: $16

Organ Concerts: Enjoy a concert on one of the world’s largest outdoor pipe organs. Spreckels Organ Pavilion. 2-3 p.m. Free.
