Seaport Village is one of my top places to go to in San Diego with the family or when visitors come to town, and during the holiday season a little more magical, even! There are 50 places to shop: cothing for women, men and kids. You can find awesome souvenirs, art, toys, and gifts for the whole family. Of course, there is the lagoon, the carousel, a marina and much more! I thought I would share some neat events coming up and also share just some of my favorite places there.
Marine Corps Toys for Tots Drive
Help support the kids in our community with the Marine Corps Toys for Tots Drive in Seaport Village. Bring a NEW UNWRAPPED toy to Ben & Jerry’s in Seaport Village and they will give you a scoop for $1.00! Santa Claus will be there from Dec. 14 through Dec. 24 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., providing professional photographs starting at $20. They permit videos and cameras, which is an added take-home along with the free candy canes.
Some places (just off of my head) to check out while you are there:
Kite Flite – We have had hours of fun with our purchases from that store, and the people who work there are super friendly.. Check out their prism kites or spinners. They have kites and toys for all budgets.
Seaport Oil and Vinegar – For the chef of the house consider getting some infused oils and premium Italian vinegars. Love that place.
American Nostalgia – Great for retro signs and framed art, this store is fun for putting together something to add to the dorm room or game room. Love checking out that store when I am there!
Crazy Shirts – This place is super fun to check out men’s, women’s and children’s imprinted t-shirts and sportswear. I have been known to grab a shirt (or two) for my girl and then she acts surprized when she unwraps it.
Soap Opera – Especially for the ladies, this store has all sorts of bath gifts and handmade soaps – perfect for a small gift for the kids’ teachers or that special someone.
The Tile Shop – Cool place! My friends have done this and it is a fun projectL Buy tiles to make your own house-number plaque!
We love dining for a light lunch at Harbor House and get thier amazing ceviche and shrimp cocktails. Harbor House and San Diego Pier Café are great, too. For sweet lovers, try Seaport Cookie Company and for coffee and live music, Upstart Crow. Lastly, Ben & Jerry’s for ice cream is one of those places we head to before we take a walk on the water!
SDBM Tip: Keep track of how long you have parked if you do not want to pay a fee and do not forget to have your ticket validated! You can enjoy 2 hours of validated parking for $1 in the Seaport Village lot with any purchase and only $4 an hour thereafter.
