Looking Good for Less
Living in San Diego, our warm weather lasts well into the fall. We’re luckier than most, even though recent hot days have made most of us long for some cooler weather. Kids are going back to school soon, and some have already started so these shopping tips just cannot wait!
CLOTHES: Although there are some great back-to-school deals on clothing, a great way to get great deals is shopping summer clearance! Since our warm weather is still around, you can find short-sleeved items, shorts, skirts and dresses at great prices.
So, maybe you’re very fashion-oriented and you’re thinking: “Lua, I can’t possibly dress my child in last season’s fashions!” Well, I have a solution for you too! 
Mix-and-match items you bought from last season, and coordinate them with new fall styles in outerwear, accessories and shoes!
SHOES: My absolute favorite place to shoe shop (for both myself and my munchkin) is Nordstrom RACK. Their kids’ shoes section can sometimes be sparse, so check back weekly. (You’re welcome for another excuse to shop!)
GEAR: Buying a backpack and lunchbox and lunch accessories for my little Kindgergartener this year ended up being more work than I thought, only because I encountered so many choices! I searched the web and Amazon.com is an absolute goldmine. When you’re searching for a product that you might not necessarily know the name brand of like: “bpa-free lunchbox ice packs”, you’re definitely going to find a wide variety of products to compare and contrast. (I seriously spent half-an-hour picking out ice packs, but I am so happy with my purchase! They’ve worked out perfectly.) I found a great selection and shipping took less than a week (standard). Easy shopping is bliss!
